“The circumference of the city shall be 18,000 cubits. And the name of the city from that time on shall be, The Lord Is There.” (Ezekiel 48:35)
The Lord is there. What a name! After spending the chapter indicating the tribal layout, the Lord gets to the most important consideration. The Lord will be present. All the tribes and all the gentiles attached to the tribes will be present. That is great. However, the most essential thing is that the Lord will be there.
People often wonder what heaven will be like. In the end, it doesn’t matter what heaven is like. What matters is that the Lord is there.
Father, please grow my heart to desire to be close to you, both here on earth and in eternity. Amen.
